I Did Great With Dating. But I Still Hated It.
Some reflections on life as a single guy.
“Pretend you only like him 45% of what you actually feel.”
“Hey, do you mind if I text this person (on our first date, and he’s my ex-boyfriend)?”
“Alright— it took her 11 minutes to reply. I’m going to wait 12 minutes to reply back.”
“Wait a minute! He’s not cute enough to ignore me!”
“Hey girl, long time no see (6 months) — wanna get together?”
Look familiar? It will be if you return to online dating. I had a unique experience with dating that might help a few of you.
Here’s what it’s like
Imagine you are suddenly single and ready to date. You’ve heard about this new dating world for years. You’ve heard about all the games and nonsense.
You think, “I’m not getting involved in any of that stuff. This is my rematch. I won’t make the same mistakes as last time.” And sure enough, you get sucked into the maelstrom.
So many people complain about online dating. I felt like it went objectively well for me — and I still hated it.
