Sean Kernan’s Biannual Update
Some details on the coming year of my life.
I try to do a new update every six months, just to give some insight into the goings-on in my life. I’m at my 1.5-year mark here on Medium so here’s the latest. I have a surprising amount of good news, to the point that it makes me anxious. There’s always this lurking superstition that if things have been this good for this long, I’m due for catastrophe.
I’m fully vaccinated as of two weeks ago. The second vaccine hit me like a truck (it was Pfizer). Travel season is coming in hot, particularly after being locked up for so long.
Next week, I’m going to Leesburg, Virginia to stay with my family for nine days. I’ve missed them a lot. They run a vineyard, Bleufrog Vineyards. It has been very busy. I know “my family owns a vineyard” sounds very high society — but it’s a lot more like farm labor. And they are the farthest thing from hoity-toity folks. They have a cool guesthouse that I’ll hang out in and write. I may begrudgingly help water the vines too.
A few weeks after that, I’m going to be attending a NYC benefit for the Navy SEAL Foundation, which supports the families of fallen soldiers, raising money to send their kids to college.
I’m going to be introducing my dad. It’ll be on the SS Intrepid. I haven’t given a…
