The Original Missing Kid On The Milk Carton Case Has Been Solved
How everything came full circle.
Etan Patz was pleading to walk to his bus stop alone.
The problem: he was only 6 years old.
His mother Julie had said no for weeks. The school’s bus stop was two blocks away, only a short walk in New York’s Soho district.
That day — she gave in to his request and it would haunt her for the rest of her life.
Julie said she looked out her window and saw Etan walking down the street to the bus stop, where other kids would be waiting.
She didn’t realize there was a new bus driver that day. The end of the bus strike had brought a wave of replacement drivers and Etan’s bus had already come early. The driver didn’t realize he had the headcount wrong at his stop.
Etan was alone waiting when he vanished that day.
When Julie learned of his disappearance, she fainted in her living room.
